The water flow rate of the Sera X-Edge corner filter can be adjusted continuously and can be directed variably with the included spray tube. Additionally, the duckbill nozzle provides a gentle spray option. This nozzle can also enhance oxygen supply: air is drawn in through the injector using the Air-Set, mixing it with water before it's delivered to the aquarium.
As with all Sera filters, safety is a key consideration in the design of the Sera X-Edge corner filter. Corner filters may pose risks to fish and shrimp. There are two critical areas to consider. First, fish can sometimes swim behind the filter and get trapped. To address this, a "Swim-stop" feature has been incorporated to prevent fish from accessing that area. Secondly, young shrimp often crawl through the filter media into the filter, which can be hazardous for them. To mitigate this, precisely fitting filter media are utilized.
Installing the corner filter is remarkably easy: the holder is secured to the glass with four suction cups. The corner filter then snaps onto the holder. For maintenance, the filter can be detached from the holder, and it is also possible to remove the filter cotton underwater.
