If the kiln is wood fired, there may be more variation in the texture and color

If the kiln is wood-fired, there may be more variation in the texture and color given the less predictable nature of fire and the presence of ash; gas-fired kilns, on the other hand, tend to have a little more control over the temperature, resulting in a more evenly fired piece. Ultimately, these types of variation are expected and leave each piece with a stunning, one-of-a-kind look.
