ABOUT THE ART
Pattachitra art form is known for its intricate details as well as mythological narratives and folktales inscribed in it. Pattachitra was originally created for ritual use and as souvenirs for pilgrims to the Jagannath Puri temple.

WHAT WE LEARN

Jyeshtha Maas, the scorchiest summer month is the month when the trio of Lord Jagannatha, Balabhadra and Subhadra move out of the sanctum to take a holy bath on the day of Snana Purnima.

After bathing with 108 pitchers of aromatic water during the hot day, the deities catch fever. For treatment, they move into Anasar Ghar (sick room) for a fortnight long quarantine.

Post the treatment, they appear to public, rejuvenated, a day before the Rath Yatra. Their journey back to the sanctum is marked as the Celebrated Rath Yatra.

But what happens to the temple, when the deities are sick? In the place of idols, Pattis or paintings or Pattachitras are placed that are known as ANASARA PATTI

This ritual is where the Pattachitra tradition actually began. These Pattis represent full human forms of Lord Jagannatha as Sri Narayana, Lord Balabhadra as Shri Basudev and Devi Subhadra as Maa Bhubaneswari

This year, Snana Purnima fell on June 14 and the deities are recovering in the Anasar Ghar currently.

We will learn the Narayan swaroop of Lord Jagannath during the workshop as illustrated in the attached images, beginning right from sketching, moving to coloring and detailing following the authentic process of Pattachitra paintings.

Fun but not for rough play.
Color: Orange
The ball contented our “golden” Jaxson for about 15 minutes. He then thought it was a regular ball and it’s just a little delicate for a big dog. I just wrote it off as a loss. Great idea but should be more durable.

dog ball
Color: Blue
This ball is perfect for keeping my dog active and entertained. It's made of strong, durable material, ideal for games of fetch. It doesn't break easily and is light enough for him to carry in his mouth without any problem.

One Tough Ball!
Color: Blue
Our dogs are loving this ball. Our 1 yr old hound is a world-class chewer and he can't make a dent in this ball. The interactive buzzing and bouncing keeps them entertained for long durations. It's a mite noisy but the barking from the 1 yr old is much louder, lol. Even turned off, they like playing with it and chewing on it. Based on the tough construction, we think it will last much longer than traditional chew balls.

Great toy to relieve stress in a dog.
Color: Orange
He actually cares FOR this toy. I think he thinks its alive. I put it in his Kong weeble wobble thing because that thing actually is indestructible, thinking he'd be able to play with it but not be able to tear it up and he started yelping like he was hurt. I do expect him at some point to tear this thing up if he gets bored with it. He's a shredder and the material looks shred-able. But right now he loves this thing. First toy he takes to bed with him. ;)
