With this design, Candie expresses the idea that you don’t need to let go of childhood to be an adult. It expresses the revelation that memories don’t have to be forgotten in order to grow.

Hello Kitty has a perpetual childlike innocence to her, but what happens when Hello Kitty grows up? Candie’s imagines Hello Kitty going through these same iconic adolescent events and, despite her uncertainty, never letting go of the magic that makes her Hello Kitty.

ABOUT CANDIE BOLTON

Self-taught artist Candie Bolton creates artwork that is candy to the eye as well as the soul. As an illustrator and painter she constantly strives to bring her unique style of classic Japanese culture meets surrealist art to canvas and even sofubi toys. Kidrobot worked with Candie Bolton’s on her first officially produced Dunny design, Kitsune, which dropped in 3-inch form along with the all-star cast of groundbreaking artists for the City Cryptid Dunny Art Figure Series.
