About the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation The Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback launched the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation in 2006 with the donation of a K-9 to the police force in his hometown of Findlay, OH. Since that initial grant, the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation has funded hundreds of police and fire department K-9 units across the United States with a particular emphasis on working dogs in the Pittsburgh community. In total, the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation has distributed in excess of $2.2 million in grants, over $1 million of which has specifically benefited K-9 programs in Pennsylvania and Ohio. In addition, the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation has hosted a number of events to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Roethlisberger' high school alma mater and other organizations close to the football star' heart.
