PSS 02-55M-334 - Dripless Shaft Seal 55 mm, 3 3/4" Stern Tube

The PSS 02-55M-334 Dripless Shaft Seal is expertly designed for marine applications, ensuring reliable sealing and performance. This advanced mechanical face seal utilizes a unique construction to accommodate varying movement and vibrations while maintaining a secure fit.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a stainless-steel rotor that works in tandem with a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows and fits over the stern tube, while the stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellows, creating a consistent sealing surface. This pre-load maintains contact between the rotor and flange, allowing the seal to adapt to the propeller thrust's fore and aft movements.

Additionally, the over-bored carbon flange allows for movement around the shaft, accommodating misalignment and vibration issues effectively. Sealing is further enhanced by two O-rings located in the collar's bore, which rotate with the shaft, minimizing wear during operation.
