Ritual Howls conjures a mesmerizing storm with their sixth album, Ruin - Green, pressing a lush green vinyl that is as enigmatic as their sound itself. From the haunting pulse of "Follow the Sun," with its reverberating guitar echoes to the sinuous allure of "A Safe Haven," the Detroit trio beckons you into their moody, industrial lair where post-punk shadows dance.

Over a decade into their spellbinding journey, Ritual Howls masterfully blend goth, industrial, and the vestiges of rave culture into a sonic experience that pummels the senses. With drummer Chris Samuels' rhythmic prowess, bassist Ben Saginaw's fuzz-laden grooves, and Paul Bancell's ethereal guitar lines, Ruin emerges as both a physical and emotional labyrinth. Bancell's move to Los Angeles infused new energy into their collaboration, despite the distance, reaffirming their unmatched cohesion with the help of sound engineer Adam Cox.

Much of Ruin's magic ignites from their unique collaborative process. Samuels' inventive beats lay the foundation, with melodies that intertwine like whispers in a shadowed corridor. The kinetic "A Safe Haven" and driving force of other standout tracks reveal a band that thrives on contrasts – raw yet mysterious, bleak but undeniably magnetic.

Ruin - Green isn't just an album; it's an immersive odyssey. With its deep green pressing, the vinyl captures the essence of Ritual Howls' dark enchantment. Whether a seasoned aficionado or a newcomer spellbound by their allure, this piece adds an essential chapter to their mysterious, ever-evolving story.

Enjoyed reading some of the best poems ever written. Took me places I’ve never been.
Format: Paperback
Some of the poems were difficult to comprehend and may require a re-reading to understand their full meaning. But that is the brilliance of G. Brooks, putting you in places of the mind that one has never been. Won’t recommend for newbies!
