Mizuno has launched their first dedicated Pickleball shoe in the Wave Strike.  What makes the Strike different from their dedicated tennis line up starts with the upper.  Generally speaking,  because there is often not as much wear and tear on the upper for pickleball, Mizuno has opted for less heavy duty upper materials and overlays which can be found in their tennis lineup.  This results in a lighter shoe with a much more breathable upper which is appreciated when playing in warmer climates.  In addition, the fit is more relaxed and the outsole is a bit softer to provide a bit more cushioning and comfort.

Although elite level Pickleball players might still opt for the structure of a tennis shoe because of the stress they are putting on them, the Wave Strike is a perfect balance of comfort and performance for the more recreational player on all court surfaces.
