The advantage of the Air Locker lies in the pneumatically operated locking system inside the differential. When activated, the Air Locker prevents the internal differential gears from rotating and therefore prevents the axle shafts from turning independently of each other. With both wheels tied directly to the rotation of the ring gear, the vehicle maintains maximum possible traction at all times. When unlocked, it operates like a conventional open differential. I was pleasantly surprised by these. They have a clean, natural wood smell and feel pretty durable. On the first couple uses, they were slightly rough and the edges felt a bit sharp, but that improved noticeably after a few washes. Now they feel much smoother. The size variety is a big plus—I’ve been able to use them for multiple purposes like prepping vegetables, fruits, and even meats. Overall, a solid value for the price, especially if you’re trying to replace plastic items with something more natural.
