Borderlands 3 is the fourth (without counting Tales from Borderlands) installment of the recognized series of FPP shooters with RPG elements, which significantly contributed to the extraction of the so-called looter shooters. Production introduces a number of changes and improvements to the known formula. Gearbox Software is responsible for developing and publishing this title (authors of previous parts of the series, as well as, among others, the Brothers in Arms series).

Borderlands 3 takes place five years after the events of the second part. This time the plot is focused on the Sirens, i.e. women with mysterious, superhuman powers who play an important role in the universe of this series. The heroes of the players have to face the cult of Children of the Vault, headed by Calypso Twins — Siren and her twin brother, inexplicably also possessing supernatural powers.
You start the game by choosing one of the four available characters. You will find here an expert in melee combat, as well as heroes who can summon useful creatures or fight with the help of robots and gadgets. Importantly, each of the heroes now has more than one special ability.

The basis of the game is to traverse quite extensive locations (this time we move not only on Pandora, but also on other planets) and fight with enemies as part of the main and side quests. As you will progress in the adventure, you will gradually develop your character and acquire equipment. As befits a looter shooter, equipment falling out of enemies and found in chests has randomly generated statistics and properties. What's more, weapons can now be modified with interchangeable parts.
