Alle wijngaarden worden zonder gebruik van pesticiden bewerkt en sinds 2019 zijn de eigen wijngaarden zelfs biologisch gecertificeerd. Bij Povere werkt men vooral met de lokale druivenrassen zoals Barbera, Nebbiolo en Arneis.

Barolo wordt lokaal gezien als de koning van Piemonte. De Nebbiolo druif geeft wijnen met stoere tannines en veel structuur welke hand in hand gaan met mooi rood fruit en floraliteit. De Barolo Priore van Cantine Povero is daarop geen uitzondering. Priore betekent zoveel als de "uitverkorene. De wijn heeft na de vinificatie maar liefst 38 maanden houtrijping ondergaan.  De Barolo Priore heeft in de neus mooie tonen van rood fruit, specerijen en vanille, maar ook zeker de bloemetjes zijn te herkennen. In de smaak is het een wijn met veel sap, stoere tannines en veel structuur. Een prachtige begeleider van bijvoorbeeld een mooi stuk gebakken ossenhaas!

Twisting it to the loosest setting doesn’t feel loose enough, you’ll need to put your feet up on something to recline comfortably and stay in that position. Other than that, great chair.
