Een charmant ras met een compacte, opgaande groei en heerlijke, zoet-aromatische bessen. Honeybee levert middelgrote, donkerblauwe vruchten die sappig en vol van smaak zijn, met een lichte honingachtige toets die hem uniek maakt. Deze variëteit staat bekend om zijn late rijping, waardoor de oogst mooi gespreid wordt.

De struik groeit netjes rechtop, meestal rond de 1,5 meter hoog. Hij is zeer winterhard en bestand tegen strenge vorst. Voor een rijke oogst is kruisbestuiving aanbevolen.

Tips en verzorging:

  • Aanplant: september tot maart, daarna kan ook maar houdt er rekening mee dat je extra water zal moeten geven bij warm weer omdat wortels nog niet goed gesetteld zijn. Groeit als struik en heeft dus geen ondersteuning nodig.
  • Snoeien: moet in de herfst worden gesnoeid. Veel snoei hebben de planten echter niet nodig, zeker de eerste jaren niet. Word de plant echter te groot of loopt de opbrengst terug dan kan enige snoei nodig zijn
  • Volle grond of potten: je kan al het kleinfruit telen in potten, hoe groter de pot hoe beter ze het zullen doen. Ze zullen altijd beter groeien en meer vruchten produceren in de volle grond.
