De Nederlandse naam is Japanse notenboom. Familie van de Ginkgoaceae en klade van de naaktzadigen. De bladeren zijn grijsgroen van kleur. De volwassen hoogte is ca. 20 meter. Japanse Notenbomen verdragen een temperatuur tot -25 graden Celsius. Heeft een opvallende bladkleur.

Aanplanting

De Ginkgo biloba 'Saratoga' is geschikt voor een warme plaats in uw tuin. Deze tuinplant wenst een voedselrijke, droge tot vochthoudende 'gemiddelde' bodem. Dus niet te zware of te lichte grond en een vrij neutrale zuurgraad (pH = 6 - 8). Staat graag in de zon of lichte schaduw. Verdraagt zomerse hitte redelijk, mits de standplaats voldoende vochthoudend is. Deze Japanse Notenboom kan bij nachtvorst in april-mei schade oplopen. Deze plant is in haar jonge jaren eenvoudig met allerlei vaste planten te combineren. Later alleen nog maar met 'bosrand' en 'bosplanten'.

Bijzonderheden

In China en in Japan wordt de Notenboom al jaren aangeplant als tempelboom. De naam is misschien misleidend. Deze boom komt namelijk oorspronkelijk uit China. De Ginkgo wordt gezien als conifeer omdat ze verwant zijn aan de naaktzadigen. Maar het is eigenlijk geen echte conifeer of loofboom.

A Textbook for My Students

I'm an adjunct instructor for several institutions where I teach adults how to design and develop software using various IDEs and languages. As a former military officer, I've come to appreciate the idea of ensuring my troops have all the training and gear they'll need to get the job done. Patrick exemplifies that spirit in his series, "From Zero to Proficiency." I've never come across any other author who continues to provide weekly support to his readers and Patrick Felicia does. He even solicits us to learn what we'd like for him to teach next. If you want to learn Unity from someone who actually knows how to teach it, I recommend his books. I read a lot of technical books, so I seriously appreciate it when an author can clearly convey knowledge in an easy-going manner that is technically correct. I'm very happy with these books and am sure my students will be too.
