Les Chênes is in de kleur granaat rood. Het heeft een grote aromatische intensiteit met geuren van rood fruit als frambozen, zwarte bes in combinatie met hints van karamel en vanille. Fluweelzacht in de mond met noten van zwarte bes, bramen, karamel en tabak. Een rijke wijn, goed gestructureerd met een aanhoudende afdronk.

De druiven komen van de Pierres-Plates-percelen midden op de heuvels. Het terroir bestaat uit klei en kalksteen met daarin fossielen van schaal en schelpdieren afkomstig uit de Loire rivier. De druiven worden met de hand geplukt waarna zij tijdens de fermentatie een malolactische gisting ondergaan. Daarna rijpt de wijn gedurende 1 jaar in Franse eikenvaten, waarvan 25% nieuw, 25% 1jaar, 25% 2jaar en 25% 3 jaar oude vaten.
