What’s New in the Deluxe Edition?
Fields of Fire Deluxe Edition is an expanded and improved edition of Fields of Fire Volume I. Based on the past 15 years of feedback, hundreds of hours of playtesting, and long discussions with the design team, the Deluxe Edition presents Ben Hull’s masterpiece of tactical infantry command in a way that is accessible to the modern gamer while retaining all of the deep complexity that veteran players have grown to love over the years.
New features include:
- A Rewritten Series Rulebook. The Deluxe Edition comes with a rewritten 3rd Edition ruleset, packed with examples, diagrams, and clarifying notes while maintaining continuity with the 2nd Edition rules. Series Developers Andrew Stead and Colin Parsons have worked to eliminate ambiguities and edge cases throughout, creating a much improved reference manual for play.
- Training Material. While Fields of Fire has a reputation of being difficult to learn, the Field Manuals make it easy. Each chapter in the Basic Training Field Manual incrementally introduces new rules through training exercises that teach you the basics of infantry combat. In the Advanced Operations Field Manual you'll find guides on setting up for air assaults, defensive missions, and making the best use of supporting vehicles.
- A Full Stand-Alone Mission. Keep Up the Fire! is a WWII based stand-alone mission tailored towards easing new company commanders into the full game. This mission can be played repeatedly with a variety of simplified rules to allow you to adjust to the full historical campaigns.
- Four Fully Redesigned Mission Books. Refining and improving the new campaign book format that began with Fields of Fire: The Bulge Campaign, the Normandy, Heartbreak Ridge, Naktong River, and Vietnam campaigns are presented in a clarified and expanded manner featuring newly written background notes and additional features for this edition.

Ok, but don’t use hand cream

I like the case for its ability to house the keyboard, the pencil and the iPad in one convenient place. I find that the magnetic closure and magnets holding the keyboard are not as strong as a previous case I had purchased. The keyboard is great, I like the touchpad and the backlight colors. The cover material is not hand lotion friendly! I’ve tried water and lens cleaning wipes, and neither gets this cover clean. I hesitate to use any chemicals because the material is the type that will get sticky and nasty, and I don’t like that. I’ve included a photo of what the cover looks like after using a lens cleaning wipe. If the magnets were stronger and the cover material easier to clean, I would buy again.

great case!

pros; the color is beautiful. I picked the navy blue. It is exactly as the description described. It goes very well with my blue iPad. The size is very precise and fits perfectly on my iPad. The magnet that holds the case together is very strong. The iPad itself can pivot vertically and horizontally using that magnet. This works very smooth. The magnet closure for the case itself is strong and holds well. The magnet that holds the keyboard in place also works very well. Cons; when the keyboard is in its correct position, it is difficult to angle the iPad in front into the provided grooves. The keyboard gets into the way. This prevents the iPad from reaching the grooves provided. The keyboard feels very light and cheap.
The keyboard itself connected with the Bluetooth very easily. It works wonderful. I love the back light on the keyboard. The color of the keyboard is wonderful. However, as I said above, it does feel a bit cheap. But for 20 bucks, what can you ask for.
When the case is folded together with the keyboard in the iPad, it is a bit bulky. But I knew that from the previous reviews and was expecting it.
What I love most about this case is that the iPad can be removed using the magnet on the back from the keyboard portion, but it is still protected by the exterior plastic case. So in situations where I don’t need to use my keyboard, I can remove the iPad itself and know that it’s still protected overall I recommend this product.

Nice Case & Keyboard

Love this case with a keyboard. I like using the keyboard vs using one on the screen of iPad. And the keyboard has rechargeable batteries instead of having to buy batteries. And it protects my iPad.

Beautiful, and everything I want it except that the keyboard keys didn’t work😭

I searched and search for the right keyboard case for me. The most important thing for me was to be able to remove the iPad case itself from the whole case and keyboard, and this one was it. Unfortunately, when I started checking the keyboard a lot of The keys were not output in the correct symbol or letters. So defeats the whole purpose of having a keyboard. I returned it and asked for a replacement, thinking that the item was defected, but when I got the New replacement, it was the same thing so I tried to contact the seller, but there was no option to do that. Therefore, I had to return the second replacement keyboard and look for another keyboard cover.

Quality and Functional

I was looking for a case that could rotate and includes a keyboard. I have the gen 5 Ipad Air and it fits just fine. The part that rotates is magnetic (pretty strong) so if i just want the part with the ipad, I can just take it off. Keyboard is magnetic and the touchpad is such a bonus. It was easy to connect and every key works (can also change light color). Im also really impressed with the quality of the case, its pretty thick and even the plastic is nice. The navy blue color is also super cute, wish they had a dark red color too.
