Hagen Tropimix

Tropimix enrichment bird food is a 100% edible blend that is free of all shells and husks, eliminating messy waste. Enrichment foods such as Tropimix should be implemented for your pet bird’s psychological needs. Birds just like humans seek the enjoyment of eating a variety of food. Tropimix offers the best of both worlds: a multi-grain variety with tasty fruits, vegetables, legumes and nuts with the added benefit of Tropican, a nutritionally balanced extruded morsel.


Hagen Tropican

Tropican Parrot food is an extruded formula that has a greater nutrient density and digestibility than other products on the market. This results in better plumage, weight balance, lower consumption, greater metabolic water production therefore lower water intake and lower urination and excellent palatability.

Tropican Premium Formulas are scientifically prepared as a complete balanced diet for all life cycles of companion Parrots, from a newly hatched baby chick to an active and energized adult all the way to a mature senior. Whether it is in the form of mash, extruded granules, sticks or biscuits, there is no need for dietary supplements. Each formula contains a nutritious blend of grains, seeds, nuts, vegetables, fruits, vitamins and minerals for maximum palatability and biological value. Tropican uses only the freshest grains and legumes from the most recent crops.


Supplements

Introducing vitamin and calcium supplements to your bird is the surest way to ensure you are providing optimal diet conditions for better health. Poor or inadequate diet is the main reason for illness in birds. Birds may get sick for many reasons but the two main categories where most problems lie are the bird’s environment and their diet. If bird owners can optimize their bird’s environment and diet, many problems can be avoided. This means that your bird can live a longer, healthier, happier life.

Feeding Guide

While the HARI Flock eats 100% Tropican extruded parrot food daily, when considering what to feed pet birds we recommend that the daily diet for parrots consist of 70% Tropican Extruded Pellets and 30% enrichment foods such as: seed & nut mixes, fresh fruits and vegetables, leafy greens, sprouts and of course Tropimix Enrichment Parrot Food!

Sturdy, Be mindful if a few things in advance

Good quality. The black pipe compliments our decorating style so we are over all pleased. Be mindful of the following: - Needs a little bit of expertise in making sure all the flanges line up and are level/plumb. - Even if/when you pre assemble tubing according to printed instructions, the shelving won't line up and some connection parts will have to be loosened to line up. - I consider us (me & the hubs) little above average when it comes to DIY but this took some figuring out and cooperation during installation because we decided to align the holes on the flanges up with our studs to enforce the holding strength (for weight of books and family photo albums/picture boxes). This choice was prompted by the poor quality of plastic drywall anchors included with the product. Now that I have installed one, I will customize next time with more height (to accommodate taller children's books that don't fit the current set up) and a bit deeper (to accommodate a 12 inch shelf/wood insert). Aesthetically, it will not accommodate a book taller than about 9 inches. Our photo albums range up to 15 inches and because the shelving depth from back wall to front of wood shelf is about 12 inches, it hangs over the front too much to look balanced. With the current set up, I'm limited with what can be placed on the shelves - size wise. While this does not have anything to do with the quality of the product, you may not know to consider these aspects in advance so thats why I include it in my review.
