If you own a 2003-2007 5.9L Cummins, you're probably familiar with the variable geometry Holest turbo, which, while cleverly engineered, has gained a reputation for frequent failures. The exposure to soot, carbon buildup, and corrosion leads to issues with the movable VGT components in the exhaust housing. Additonally, problems can arise with the electronic controlled VGT actuator, too. Luckily for us, turbocharger kits that rid the plague of that by using a tried and true S300.

This turbo platform stands out for its capacity to manage higher boost and faster shaft speeds, making it exceptionally well-suited to meet the demands typically placed on diesel trucks. Beyond improved performance, users can enjoy the additional advantages such as the lower EGTs and reduced drive pressure, which results in smoother power for the engine. However, although we are getting rid of a troublesome piece of this puzzle, understand that you are also losing a potentially valuable tool on the truck that is the built-in exhaust brake. If you're a driver who tows heavy and utilizes this daily, this is something that you will need to replace with an air or electric brake to counter.

This all-inclusive kit comes with the turbocharger of your choice, a two-piece T4-divided exhaust manifold, the appropriate gaskets to mount, and the hardware necessary to complete the job, too.
