He created his original style of work with extremely small  Kebori carvings with flat inlaid metals. Thanks to that he could create big landscapes or place 36 people on a small item like this one. 

Made of shibuichi with inlaid copper, silver and gold. 

Decorated with 36 immortal poets. This is a group of poets from Asuka, Nara and Heian period selected by Fujiwara No Kinto as examples of Japanese poetic ability.
