Pro-Tip: The 1-1/8" size is commonly used for latch bores on interior door knobs. When drilling through a door, drill from one side until the center spur just pokes through the other side, then stop. Finish the hole by drilling from the opposite side using that small pilot hole; this technique prevents "blowout" and ensures a clean edge on both sides of the door.
