Made in Korea

Magpie and Tiger by artist Kyungran Yeo draws upon the rich symbolism of Korean Minhwa (folk painting). In Korean tradition, the tiger embodies bok (good fortune), while the magpie is celebrated as a bearer of joyful news.

In this work, the tiger carries the magpie on its back and stands before a tree in full bloom with peonies—symbols of wealth, prosperity, and honor. A rabbit, representing the artist herself, adds a personal touch of blessing and good wishes to the scene.

Produced as a museum-quality fine art print, this piece captures both the timeless beauty of Korean tradition and the artist’s contemporary reinterpretation. It brings elegance, symbolism, and a quiet sense of joy into any space.

Artist, Kyungran Yeo

Kyungran is a Korean ceramic artist. Her tableware, which are the result of her contemplation of the fundamental ‘use’ of the craft, create a natural and beautiful harmony with everything they contain.

Minhwa Collection

Kyungran draws inspiration from Minhwa (Korean folk painting), a tradition rich with auspicious symbols of fortune, joy, and prosperity. Tigers, magpies, rabbits, and peonies—each carrying centuries of meaning—are reimagined through her unique artistic language.

On her ceramics, these motifs are hand-painted with meticulous care, turning each vessel into a piece that elevates both everyday meals and special gatherings. Her digital drawings, meanwhile, reveal another dimension of her practice, offering a timeless encounter with beauty and symbolism.

Blending tradition with contemporary sensibility, Yeo’s works embody a quiet elegance that resonates far beyond their form.

Care

-Surface & Texture: Minor variations in paper texture or tone may occur due to the natural qualities of archival fine art paper. These are inherent characteristics, not flaws.

-Framing & Cover: Each print comes in a wooden frame with a crystal-clear protective cover. Avoid placing in direct sunlight or areas with high humidity to ensure longevity.

-Cleaning: Gently dust the frame and cover with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

-Handcrafted Details: As every piece is carefully produced, subtle variations in finish and framing may occur, making each work unique.

essential reading for activists and healers alike
Format: Paperback
as a white trauma therapist & somatic practitioner who in my early career worked primarily in Communities of Color, People of Color clients help me realize that I could not support them in healing the root of what they were dealing with if I did not understand the trauma of systemic and intergenerational racism. As an anti-racist educator, after co-facilitating many 2 day trainings and watching most people dissociate the whole time only come back around to repeating courses not remembering most of what we talked about, I was becoming disillusioned with both fields of practice. Resmaa Menakem's book came at just the right time in my journey, and I believe in our movement, to help us bridge the worlds of anti-racism and somatics and carve the path forward to heal our bodies and souls from white supremacy. White folks like myself will be tempted to breeze through this book and teach it to others; We would do well instead to form communities around the practices in here and integrate the deep healing available to us in both the history and somatics Resmaa offers us. This is truly one of our sacred movement texts on the path to Collective Liberation. For healers: This is the tool for healing the racism at the root of our trauma and disembodiment. For activists: This is the tool for healing the internalized racial oppression that busts up our movements. -- kelly germaine strickland, msw, lisw

Beautiful book with great pictures and historic notations
I bought this for my daughter who is a great plane enthusiast and makes regular trips to the Boeing Flight Museum in South Seattle. She visited this museum once and loves this book as a commemoration of that event.
