The Higher Things® "Here I Stand" Vacation Bible School (VBS) focuses on Confession. General Confession and Absolution is something that the students will be familiar with since this takes place every Sunday the Lord’s Supper is received. Beyond this, some churches may offer the Service of Corporate Confession and Absolution (LSB 290–291). A smaller number of churches and pastors may even have time set aside for Private Confession and Absolution (LSB 292–293).

We have taken the approach of simply letting the Lord’s Words and the Catechism teach what Confession is. Even children of Preschool age are not too young to answer the question, “What is Absolution?” with the answer that it is “Forgiveness from the pastor as from God Himself.”
