Veuve Clicquot presents the fifth edition of its Extra Brut Extra Old. Expressing the ultimate creativity of our Cellar Master, Extra Brut Extra Old is a unique collection crafted exclusively from our reserve wine collection, one of the largest recorded in Champagne.

This fifth edition of Extra Brut Extra Old is a blend of seven of Veuve Clicquot’s most prestigious reserve wines, from the years 1996, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.

This cuvée was crafted through a double aging process: first, the reserve wines are matured in vats on fine lees, then aged in bottle “on lattes” for at least three years, until disgorgement, to achieve perfect harmony.

Much like the creation of a perfume, the essence of these “mature” or “spicy” reserve wines brings texture and complexity to the blend.

· Fresh citrus (grapefruit, lemon)
· Dried fruits (almond, hazelnut)
· Pastry notes (brioche, frangipane, toasted bread)
· Floral hints (linden, lemon verbena)

PALATE
· Lively and saline
· Citrus (grapefruit zest, lime, yuzu)
· Light roasted dried fruits (toasted almond, hazelnut)
· Gentle spices (white pepper, ginger)

Our dogs hurt their mouths chewing these bones

I don't do a lot of reviews because I realize many are objective opinions. However, in this case I felt it was necessary to warn others. Our dogs are aggressive chewers. Their last rubber bones (not these) which we've purchased before, and recently purchased again, were destroyed quickly. Chunks of rubber came off the ends. Since those didn't hold up like they used to, I found these harder bones hoping they would last longer. They were able to gnaw into the hard plastic within a few minutes. This created sharp edges that cut their mouths. When I saw a bit of blood on the bones, I took them away from the dogs and threw them away. I wondered why they quit chewing on them after being so excited at first. Also, these are hard enough to damage a tooth.
