WHAT DOES A DSG TRANSMISSION TUNE DO?

IE’s Audi S4 (DL501 S-Tronic) DSG tune is all-inclusive and does not offer expensive upgrades. That’s right, there are no unnecessary upgrade charges and all features and upgrades are included at one low cost. A great deal of sportiness is added to the tune while maintaining factory smoothness and driveability that you love about the S4. More aggressive launches and faster shifts are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Also, expect acceleration and 0-60 times to improve dramatically from a larger useable powerband provided by the higher shift points.


REQUIRED FOR SELECT ECU TUNES

Required for S4 & S5 Stage 2 dual pulley files, your new transmission tune will no longer lug the engine in drive mode or short shift the larger powerband. Clutch clamping forces are increased so the transmission can safely handle and deliver the increased power and torque. DSG tune requires a matching ECU Tune, do not install on stock ECU tunes.

IE’s DSG tunes are all-inclusive without any expensive upgrades. That’s right, there are no unnecessary upgrade charges and all features are included from the outset for any level of hardware or ECU Tune Stage, one cost and you are covered for all and any future upgrades from Stage 1 to Stage 2 billion.

 

USER ADJUSTABLE LAUNCH CONTROL

The purchase of an IE DSG file grants you access to customization of launch points. With several launch points to choose from you can pick what works best for your setup!

Available Launch Control RPMs:

  • 3400 RPM
  • 3600 RPM
  • 3800 RPM
  • 4000 RPM

*Some early model B8 DSG TCUs cannot have launch control added to them, as well as some replacement Mechatronics units. Non compatible TCU codes include, but may not be limited to 8K1927156AC and 8K1927156AD. You can use your IE Powerlink tool to check your TCU code. Other DSG tune features will function normally.


IE DSG TUNE TECHNICAL FEATURES

HIGHER SHIFT POINTS

  • Utilize the whole powerband of your supercharged 3.0T engine without the DSG interfering and shifting early.

DRIVE MAPPING REWORKED

  • The B8 and B8.5 S4 is designed to a fault to keep engine rpm extremely low in drive. We completely reworked this, creating a more enthusiast-friendly drive mapping which shifts a bit higher. This eliminates vibration and that constant feeling that you’re lugging the engine. We’ve reworked the downshifting aspect as well, making the transmission much quicker to deliver power when you need it. Thousands of miles of testing were accumulated and a variety of users were polled to come up with this improved drive mode.

INCREASED CLUTCH PRESSURE

  • Increasing the clutch pressure allows for the transmission to hold more torque without causing clutch damage or expedited wear. With the increased torque, the acceleration will be greatly increased and launches will far more aggressive.

FLASHED THROUGH OBD-II PORT

  • There’s no need to remove the TCU from the car and it can be flashed in your driveway or through an IE software dealer. Additionally, having an IE PowerLink cables means you can install updates are they become available as well as read TCU and ECU fault codes.

TAKE-OFF LAG REDUCED

  • The clutch engagement has been reworked to reduce that annoying “DSG Lag” when moving away from a stop.

  • The IE DSG Tune and ECU Tunes were developed side by side on our in-house dynamometer. By running both tunes you will unlock the full potential of your 3.0T engine and transmission. Perfect for all IE Tunes from Stage 1 to dual pulley and throttle upgrades.

  • Audi - S4 2008-2016 (B8 & B8.5) 3.0T supercharged engines*
  • Audi - S5 Coupe 2013-2016 (B8.5) 3.0T*
  • Audi - S5 Cabriolet 2009-2016 (B8-B8.5) 3.0T*

*IE DSG tunes are available only for vehicles equipped with Audi's 7-speed S-Tronic transmissions. Does not function with manual 6-speed transmission cars.

Once a tune purchase is applied to your vehicle's ECU, the tune is permanently registered to the vehicle and non-transferable to other vehicles. Tune can be transferred to a second party in the event of vehicle transfer of ownership only.

Try IE software for 45 days from shipment date, if for any reason you are unsatisfied the tune may be removed and refunded risk-free.

Overall, this mount is decent with good functionality and quality but a few things (short permanently affixed wire, no way to stow/hide, fixed arm length) make it annoyingly fall short of great. (Phone S24+, TPU case, ESR "magsafe" metal ring sticker) GREAT: Arm rotation (i.e. portrait/left to landscape/top) is super easy with one hand via a simple push of a button that clicks into position every 45 degrees. Great design unique to this model. Most others require a cumbersome loosening and retightening mechanism that is difficult with one hand and tedious to position where wanted. GOOD: Build quality. Secure and reliable attachment to screen without adhesive. Reliable wireless charging. Pad swivel/tilt is easy while staying tight and secure without any nut/screw to loosen. Includes attractive velcro (for carpet) and adhesive (for plastic) wire routing clips. SOSO: Magnet could be stronger to support phones (like mine) with a simple metal ring vs a fully magnetized magsafe insert - still holds strong enough while driving tho. No way to stow/hide the mount when not in use - no folding hinge - the pad bumps against the display when rotating down, so it won't rotate behind - no folding hinge either. Arm length not adjustable - my S24+ is positioned nicely as-is but larger phones may cover the Tesla display and smaller phones may be too far away from it. BAD: Wire too short to completely hide behind dash and under floor mat. Made worse by a permanently attached wire at the mount. Would be much better if attached via usbc, so it could be replaced with longer wire. NOTE: If a screen protector is installed on the Tesla display, this will cause it to bubble around the clamped edges.
