Overview:

The Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens is a professional-grade zoom lens designed for Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras. Renowned for its exceptional optical quality, fast aperture, and compact design, this lens is ideal for a wide range of photography genres including portrait, sports, and event photography. It combines advanced features with a robust build, making it a versatile and reliable tool for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Detailed Key Features:

  • Fast f/2.8 Aperture: The lens features a constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 throughout its zoom range. This wide aperture allows for excellent low-light performance, fine control over depth of field, and beautiful background blur (bokeh), making it ideal for portraits and creative photography.

  • Professional-Grade Optical Quality: The RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM incorporates advanced optical elements including aspherical and UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) lenses. These elements help to minimize chromatic aberrations, distortions, and flare, resulting in sharp, clear images with high contrast and accurate color reproduction.

  • Compact and Lightweight Design: Despite being a telephoto zoom lens with a constant f/2.8 aperture, the RF 70-200mm is designed to be more compact and lightweight compared to its predecessors. This makes it easier to handle and carry, especially during long shooting sessions or when traveling.

  • Image Stabilization (IS): The lens features built-in image stabilization, which helps to counteract camera shake and reduce blur when shooting handheld. This stabilization system allows for sharper images at slower shutter speeds, enhancing the lens's versatility in various lighting conditions.

  • Advanced Autofocus: The lens uses Canon's Ring-Type Ultrasonic Motor (USM) for fast, precise, and nearly silent autofocus. This advanced focusing system ensures quick and accurate subject tracking, making it ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects and for video recording.

  • Weather-Sealed Construction: Built to withstand the demands of professional use, the RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM features weather-sealed construction to protect against dust and moisture. This durability ensures reliable performance even in challenging environmental conditions.

  • Customizable Control Ring: The lens includes a customizable control ring that can be assigned to adjust various camera settings such as aperture, ISO, or shutter speed. This feature enhances shooting efficiency by allowing quick adjustments without needing to access camera menus.

  • Nano USM Technology: The lens employs Canon's Nano USM technology, which provides fast, quiet, and smooth autofocus operation. This is particularly useful for both still photography and video recording, where minimal focus noise is crucial.

  • Flexible Zoom Range: With a focal length range of 70-200mm, this lens offers significant versatility, making it suitable for a range of subjects from portraits to sports and wildlife. The zoom range allows for framing flexibility without needing to switch lenses frequently.

Summary:

The Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens is a high-performance telephoto zoom lens that offers a combination of fast aperture, exceptional optical quality, and a compact design. Its f/2.8 aperture ensures excellent low-light capability and beautiful bokeh, while the advanced image stabilization and autofocus systems enhance its usability in various shooting conditions. With its weather-sealed construction and customizable control ring, this lens is built for professional use and is well-suited for portrait, sports, and event photography. Whether you're a professional photographer or an enthusiastic hobbyist, the RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM provides a powerful and versatile option for capturing high-quality images with precision and clarity.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
