32.5MP APS-C Sensor & DIGIC X Processing

At the core of the EOS R7 is a 32.5-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, balancing resolution, speed, and low-light performance for both photography and video. As one of the first APS-C cameras in the EOS R lineup, it benefits from a 7K capture area that enables oversampled 4K video with improved sharpness and image quality.

The DIGIC X processor, borrowed from the EOS R3, powers high-speed performance throughout the camera. It enables continuous shooting up to 30 fps with the electronic shutter or 15 fps with the mechanical shutter, with AF and AE calculations performed before every frame. Sensitivity ranges from ISO 100–32000, expandable to ISO 51200, allowing confident shooting in challenging lighting conditions.

Advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II

The EOS R7 features Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, delivering fast, responsive, and highly accurate autofocus performance across the entire sensor area using 651 automatic AF points. This advanced phase-detection system offers intelligent subject detection and tracking, capable of recognising people, animals, and vehicles and maintaining focus throughout high-speed burst sequences.

Autofocus remains reliable even in low light, with a low-luminance focusing limit down to -5 EV, making it suitable for nighttime and low-contrast scenes.

For enhanced image quality, the camera can also record oversampled 4K at up to 30p using a 7K capture area, reducing noise and moiré while improving overall sharpness. Full HD recording up to 120 fps is available for smooth slow-motion playback.

RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM Lens
Designed to be an all-around lens for APS-C R Series mirrorless cameras, this 18-150mm zoom offers an equivalent focal length range of 28.8-240mm, which covers wide-angle to telephoto perspectives. The all-in-one zoom uses an UD elements along with two aspherical elements to create aberration-free imagery. A Super Spectra Coating further helps by minimizing ghosting and flaring.

Users will be able to make use of a customizable Control Ring for either manual focus or a programmable setting. Autofocus is smooth and quiet, great for stills and video, thanks to a lead screw-type STM stepping AF motor.
