Description

Georgian Stuart Crystal Ring in 18 Carat Gold; circa 1750A remarkable survivor from the 18th century, this mourning ring speaks quietly of love, loss, and remembrance from over 250 years ago. Crafted in 18 carat gold, it would once have featured a fully engraved and enamelled band bearing the name and details of the deceased. Time has softened its story, most of the inscriptions are now lost, but the name John and his age at death, 55, remain legible, carrying forward a fragment of his memory. At its heart

A remarkable survivor from the 18th century, this mourning ring speaks quietly of love, loss, and remembrance from over 250 years ago. Crafted in 18 carat gold, it would once have featured a fully engraved and enamelled band bearing the name and details of the deceased. Time has softened its story, most of the inscriptions are now lost, but the name John and his age at death, 55, remain legible, carrying forward a fragment of his memory.

At its heart lies a hexagonal Stuart crystal compartment, a style first popularised in the late 17th century and treasured well into the Georgian period. Beneath the faceted crystal lies a now unidentifiable remnant of the original memorial contents. Perhaps a lock of hair, woven silk, or a painted memento; its form blurred by the passage of centuries but still a powerful link to the past.

The wearing away of the engraved band and the softened crystal compartment surface are hallmarks of genuine age and use, telling us this ring was once cherished daily by someone grieving a loved one. Today, it stands as an evocative piece of history part jewel, part memorial, and wholly unique.

A rare opportunity to own an authentic piece of mourning jewellery from the 1700's; an object that connects us not only to a single life remembered, but to the broader human experience of love and loss through time.

Very happy with these wind spinners. They are easy to press, easy to open and they hold up very well. My sublimated prints come out so vibrant and look great. Definitely worth it! I’ve ordered these multiple times!

These are amazing gifts.
I think I've reviewed these in the past but they are my favorite thing to make. They are stainless steel so they don't fade unless they are in direct sun. You can put any sublimation print on them (peel off the plastic first) w an Epson 15000 sublimation printer or an 8550. They are 10" not 8. So you need the bigger printer.
