Anthurium Carlablackiae (Round x GPH001) x Night Dragon – Seedlings
We are pleased to release four seedlings from this outstanding hybrid created by Jorge (@anthuriumstory). This pairing brings together two of the most striking and genetically powerful lines in the hobby, making it one of the most promising dark hybrids available today.
The mother plant is Carlablackiae Round x GPH001 from Granthurium, known for its exceptionally dark tones, round structure, and the distinctive influence of GPH001. The pollen donor is the original Night Dragon clone from Siam Flora. Jorge was the first and, for a long time, the only grower in the United States with the original Night Dragon — and even now, only a few others have it, all acquired directly through him.
If you’ve seen how Carla x RVDP hybrids develop, you can already picture the potential here. Night Dragon, being a sibling of RVDP but with even darker foliage and more pronounced red veining, pairs incredibly well with the deep, structured profile of Round x GPH001. This cross is expected to produce:
- extremely dark, saturated foliage
- deep red veins on new emergents
- strong Carla structure influenced by GPH001
- bold presence and excellent vigour
We consider this hybrid a near-guaranteed showstopper as it matures.
