Power-Sonic 12V 48Ah AGM Deep Cycle Battery: Reliable Energy for Cyclic Applications

Engineered for Sustained Deep Cycling Performance

The Power-Sonic PDC-12480 is a purpose-built 12V 48Ah AGM deep cycle battery designed to deliver consistent power over extended periods. Unlike standard starter batteries, this unit features oversized negative plates and a specialised paste formulation that enables true deep cycling capability. This means it can be repeatedly discharged and recharged without the accelerated capacity loss that plagues conventional batteries, making it ideal for applications where reliable, long-duration energy is critical.

With a nominal 20-hour capacity of 45.4Ah, this battery provides a stable energy reserve for caravans, marine electronics, mobility scooters, and off-grid setups. Its Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) technology immobilises the electrolyte, allowing safe operation in any orientation and eliminating the risk of acid spills. This valve-regulated, spill-proof construction ensures maintenance-free operation and enhanced safety during transport and installation.

Advanced AGM Construction for Demanding Environments

AGM batteries offer distinct advantages over flooded lead-acid alternatives. The absorbed electrolyte design provides lower internal resistance (approximately 9mΩ), enabling efficient charge acceptance and higher discharge currents when needed. This translates to better performance in partial state-of-charge conditions and improved recovery after deep discharges. The rugged ABS case (UL94-HB rated) withstands vibration and impact, making it suitable for mobile applications where shock and movement are constant.

Special additives in the plate paste enhance performance during deep discharge events, reducing sulfation and extending cycle life. This battery is certified for air transport under D.O.T., I.A.T.A., F.A.A., and C.A.B. regulations, and is U.L. recognised (file MH 20845), providing confidence in its safety and quality.

Key Features

  • True deep cycle design with oversized negative plates for repeated charge/discharge cycles
  • AGM technology enables spill-proof, maintenance-free operation in any position
  • Low internal resistance (approx. 9mΩ) for efficient charging and high discharge capability
  • Rugged ABS case resists impact and vibration, ideal for mobile installations
  • Wide operating temperature range: discharge from -20°C to 55°C, charge from 0°C to 40°C
  • Compact dimensions (197mm x 165mm x 170mm) and manageable weight (14.5kg) for easy handling
  • Certified for air transport and U.L. recognised for safety compliance

Versatile Applications Across Mobile and Off-Grid Systems

This battery is well-suited to a range of 12V applications where dependable deep cycle performance is required:

  • Caravans and RVs: Powers lighting, water pumps, and entertainment systems during extended off-grid stays
  • Marine: Reliable energy for trolling motors, fish finders, and onboard electronics
  • Camping and 4WD: Runs portable fridges, camp lights, and communication gear
  • Mobility scooters and electric bikes: Provides consistent power for daily mobility needs
  • Solar energy storage: Compatible with small off-grid solar setups for remote power

For optimal charging, the recommended Power-Sonic charger is the PSC-124000ACX. The battery features M6 terminal bolts for secure connections. Note that the integrated recessed carry handle simplifies transport and installation, while the compact footprint allows fitting into tight battery compartments.

Why Choose the Power-Sonic PDC Series?

Compared to generic deep cycle batteries, the PDC series offers superior energy density and cycle life due to its advanced plate design and paste formulation. This reduces the risk of premature failure in cyclic applications, ensuring your equipment stays powered when you need it most. Whether you're upgrading your caravan's house battery or building a portable power system, this 48Ah unit provides a reliable, maintenance-free solution.

Equip your off-grid setup with a battery engineered for endurance. Order the Power-Sonic 12V 48Ah AGM Deep Cycle Battery today and experience consistent, long-lasting power for your adventures.

Interesting book
Format: Paperback
I am not a lawyer, nor a writer, but rather a reader. I found the correlation of legal storytelling with sceenplay, literary narrative quite interesting. Legal trials are theater.

Highly recommended -- not just for lawyers!
Format: Paperback
I'm not a lawyer but a Classics professor looking for modern parallels to (and contrasts with) Cicero's persuasive strategies in Roman courts. This book was just what I was looking for: lucid, informative, smart, and as a bonus, well versed in narrative theory, which Meyer handles as an experienced teacher -- avoiding jargon and needless complication, illustrating the key ideas with well-known cinematic examples.

Super overview and commentary on the historiy and many iterations/amendments
Format: Hardcover
I purchased and carefully read Jeff Kosseff's "The Twenty-Six Words That Created the Internet." It is an illuminating and thorough account of all facets of the legislation including history, enactment, modifications and amendments etc. A complex subject to understand, Mr. Kosseff did an outstanding job of presenting the complicated history and details and understanding of why this is incredibly important leading up to the form that is now in use. Some reviewers complain about too much detail, but I disagree, it is very important to understand the detail. A difficult topic and a great job of presentation. I would like to have a time line e.g., something like a "herring bone" chart notating all of the critical stages of development up to the present ... from initial concepts to Section 230 rollout and the important changes / amendments in both substance and use of 230. I am now reading Koseff's latest book on a similar but different topic, "The United States of Anonymous" which deals with how the first amendment shaped the development of our online speech.

Entertaining, educational and provoking
Format: Hardcover
I really didn’t expect this level of enjoyment from reading a book about a serious law material. This book is entertaining almost like a thrilling mini series to me due to the author’s great storytelling. Vivid arguments in various courtrooms over decades, sad stories of victims, some hilarious cases (especially Smith), unjust and unfair cases, interesting judges, … I just enjoyed reading them over cover to cover. It is definitely educational. I don't have any legal background and I hardly knew Section 230. After the joyful reading, I could learn history, importance and main issues of Section 230. I believe it is a must-read to many people including software engineers like me. I couldn’t be comfortable when the author compared the amount of benefit of Section 230, which has promoted proliferation of US Internet business, to the amount of suffering of women, children, and unfairly defamed people. However, I believe the author, on purpose, provoked this discussion. Including his own sincere opinion, he introduced various discussions deeply in later chapters, which helped me to think a lot.

Interesting and clear
Format: Kindle
The book reviews the history of the law that protects interactive websites from prosecution due to defamation. The discussion is interesting and straightforward, but there are too many unimportant details in some places.
