The Opengear OM2232 Device Server is a purpose-built provisioning and automation appliance designed to accelerate NetOps workflows as part of the NetOps Automation platform. Integrated with Lighthouse 5 Centralized Management software, it provides edge-friendly, zero-touch provisioning, centralized orchestration, and vendor-neutral interoperability that unlocks rapid, repeatable deployments across diverse environments. From remote sites to multi-region data centers, the OM2232 enables Day-One Provisioning, automated configuration, and policy-driven management that reduce manual toil, minimize human error, and improve operational resilience. This compact, high-performance device server is engineered for reliability in demanding networks while delivering the flexibility to scale with evolving NetOps needs. By converging edge provisioning with centralized control, the OM2232 helps IT teams accelerate time-to-service and enforce consistent standards across every node in the enterprise.

  • NetOps Automation at the Edge: Designed to execute complex NetOps workflows directly at the network edge, the OM2232 Device Server translates provisioning policies into repeatable automation sequences. It integrates seamlessly with NetOps Automation modules and Lighthouse 5 to orchestrate device configuration, firmware updates, and policy enforcement across disparate devices and sites. This edge-centric approach eliminates manual handoffs, reduces configuration drift, and enables rapid, auditable rollouts. Network operators gain unprecedented visibility into every action, with automated validation, rollback capabilities, and traceable audit logs that support compliance requirements and incident analysis. By enabling declarative, idempotent provisioning, the OM2232 turns intricate setups into reliable, replicable deployments that scale with organizational growth.
  • Day-One Provisioning and Rapid Deployment: The OM2232 is engineered for Day-One provisioning, ensuring new devices boot into a known, policy-compliant state the moment they connect to the management plane. Administrators define blueprints that capture site-specific requirements, device roles, and baseline configurations; the device then applies these profiles automatically on first boot or during accelerated rollout windows. This reduces truck rolls, on-site configuration time, and operator risk while accelerating time-to-service for branch offices, data centers, and edge locations. With automated device discovery, firmware validation, and compliance checks baked into the provisioning workflow, you can trust that every new asset starts out correctly configured and secure from day one.
  • Centralized Management with Lighthouse 5: Lighthouse 5 provides a single, scalable control plane for Opengear appliances and connected devices. The OM2232 integrates into these workflows to deliver centralized dashboards, policy-driven administration, and automated updates across distributed environments. RBAC-based access control ensures that teams have the right level of permissions, while multi-site visibility enables operators to monitor health, track changes, and coordinate remediation across locations. Intelligent dashboards, real-time alerts, and integration with existing ITSM and workflow tools empower NetOps teams to orchestrate end-to-end deployments with confidence, reducing mean time to recovery and improving service levels across the enterprise.
  • Secure, Vendor-Neutral Edge Orchestration: The OM2232 embraces vendor-neutral interoperability, supporting a broad range of network gear, servers, and appliances. Its secure out-of-band (OOB) management, encrypted communications, and authenticated access protect critical infrastructure even in degraded or disconnected conditions. API-driven automation, SNMP, and standard management protocols enable seamless integration with existing ecosystems and CI/CD-like provisioning pipelines. The device is designed to work with heterogeneous environments, avoiding vendor lock-in while enabling consistent policy enforcement, centralized monitoring, and unified change control across diverse devices and platforms.
  • Reliability, Performance, and Scalability: Built for continuous operation in demanding environments, the OM2232 balances robust processing with flexible port options for console, serial, and network connections. It supports scalable software modules that expand capabilities as NetOps requirements grow, including advanced scripting, event-driven automations, and resilient failover mechanisms. In edge and remote locations, the OM2232 provides reliable power management, environmental sensing, and proactive health checks to minimize downtime. With fast provisioning, rapid remediation, and comprehensive logging, teams can meet stringent uptime targets while maintaining strict security and compliance posture across the network footprint.

Technical Details of Opengear OM2232 Device Server

How to install Opengear OM2232 Device Server

  • Prepare and connect: Unbox the OM2232 and connect it to a trusted power source with the recommended AC input. Physically connect the device to your management network using the appropriate Ethernet port, ensuring you have access to the Lighthouse 5 management console. Verify that the network firewall rules permit communication with Lighthouse 5 and any required cloud or on-premises management endpoints.
  • Initial access and onboarding: Access the device’s local console or out-of-band management interface to perform the initial setup. Create a management account, enable secure access (SSH/TLS), and establish initial network settings (IP, gateway, DNS). Authenticate the OM2232 with Lighthouse 5 to begin centralized management and enroll the device into the NetOps Automation platform.
  • Define provisioning blueprints: In Lighthouse 5, define Day-One provisioning blueprints and NetOps automation policies that capture site requirements, device roles, firmware baselines, and configuration templates. Associate these blueprints with the OM2232 so that, upon first boot or site deployment, the device automatically applies the correct baseline and validates successful completion.
  • Enable OOB and remote access controls: Configure out-of-band management settings, including secure access methods, authentication, and authorization policies. Ensure that remote access is restricted to authorized personnel and integrated with your identity provider. Enable automated health checks, alerting, and remediation routines to respond to network or device anomalies without requiring on-site intervention.
  • Integrate with NetOps workflows: Connect the OM2232 to your NetOps automation framework, Lighthouse 5, and any integrated ticketing or ITSM tools. Test a controlled deployment to verify that provisioning, configuration, and policy enforcement operate as expected. Validate rollback procedures and ensure that change control and auditing are functioning correctly across the provisioning lifecycle.
  • Validate and document: Run validation tests to confirm device reachability, policy compliance, and service readiness. Document the deployed configuration and update runbooks to reflect the automated provisioning process. Schedule periodic policy reviews and firmware checks to maintain security and reliability over time.

Puppy loves these sticks!
Color: Dogwood & Calming, Size: Medium
Dogs love these sticks! Must smell and taste like real wood because it keeps my puppy from bringing real sticks in the house from outside. She is a heavy chewer and these sticks keep her occupied. We are on our 2nd set.

Our dog loves it but it wasn’t durable enough to last
Color: Dogwood Jack, Size: Large, Color: Dogwood Jack, Size: Large
Our lab took to it as soon as we gave it to her. Perfect size for our 80 lb yellow lab. However, now that it’s in about 10 days, she’s able to break off chunks from this bone that are dime size or larger, and we have to throw it away

No problems after a year and a half
Color: Dogwood & Calming, Size: Medium
Have been regularly buying these for my corgi for about a year and a half. The 2 pack lasts about a month or 2 each time. Pieces break off in small enough pieces that they safely pass through his digestive system. He gnaws each one down to about 1/4 the original size before we take it away and give him a new one. He continues to have regular bowel movements and has a healthy appetite so I can’t imagine any problems arising after so long. I have tried other alternatives and every other similar chew breaks off in larger pieces and didn’t feel comfortable letting him chew/eat them. I noticed there are a few 1 star reviews saying their dogs got sick off these but after a year and a half I have had 0 issues with this product. I guess it depends on the dog and how big of pieces they are swallowing. My dog ingests pieces about the size of a grain of rice so just pay attention and you should be fine.
