The DPA 4061 CORE+ Instrument Kit is a discreet, flexible microphone solution aimed at project studios and production companies seeking a flexible microphone system for in-studio and on-stage events. At the heart of the kit is a miniature, moisture-resistant electret-condenser mic for use with wired or wireless systems for broadcast, performance, and theatrical applications. This configuration includes a comprehensive set of accessories including mounting options for instrument recording along with windscreens, an XLR adapter, and protective cases.
The CORE+ technology in the 4061 delivers a wide dynamic range and almost completely neutralizes distortion at SPLs up to 133 dB, helping to provide clean, crisp, and natural sonic performance, even on loud stages. Included are two interchangeable capsule-protection grids that alter the sonic character of the mic for better results in different placement positions.
The 4061 is wired for low sensitivity, allowing it to handle peak SPLs of up to 137 dB with less than 1% distortion, making it well suited for loud speakers, vocalists, and presenters. The mic can also be used very effectively to capture instruments—making it a flexible tool for houses of worship and live event productions. The 4061 CORE+ is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless microphone transmitter.
MicroLock for Secure, Dependable Connections
Built to withstand the rigors of long-term everyday use, DPA's MicroLock system features an easy-to-use, secure, and wear-resistant locking connector specially engineered to minimize accidental disconnection and ensure reliable performance. The compact design is well suited to situations where space is limited and a visually discreet solution is preferred.
Adapters Available for Various Wireless Transmitters
The 4061 will work with a wide variety of wireless transmitters via separately available adapters. Simply choose the MicroLock adapter with the appropriate connector for your bodypack transmitter and you're good to go.
Backward Compatible
MicroLock is fully backwards compatible with the MicroDot connection; MicroLock parts can be assembled with MicroDot parts and function as if they were of the MicroDot type. Please note that the locking function is only available if both the male and female parts are MicroLock.
A Reliable Broadcast-Quality Lavalier with CORE+
High Headroom for Loud Speech
The 4061 CORE+ features a capsule designed for loud speech and vocal applications at levels up to 134 dB SPL RMS and 137 dB SPL peak before producing < 1% distortion. The microphone can even handle peak SPLs up to 144 dB with only 10% distortion, making it very well suited for miking up loud sound sources including vocals, speech, and instruments.
More Range, Less Distortion
Microphones with CORE+ provide even more clarity across the entire dynamic range, from low to high sound pressure levels. Miniature microphones with CORE+ provide unheard levels of openness. While CORE allows mics to handle higher SPLs without significant artifacts up to 1% THD, CORE+ eliminates those artifacts completely.
Miniature Mic with a Crisp, Clear Sound
The diminutive 5.4mm capsule enables the microphone to be inconspicuous and easily disguised in clothing or costumes. The vertical diaphragm design offers a clear and natural sound optimized for the human voice.
Boost Grid Included to Tailor High Frequencies
The included High-Boost Grid introduces a 10 dB boost around 12 kHz for applications where chest-placement is preferred. The grid is made of tough and scratch-resistant anodized stainless steel, allowing it to be detached and cleaned.
Omnidirectional Polar Pattern
The forgiving omnidirectional pickup pattern captures sound from all around the mic and provides a consistent frequency response, even for off-axis sound. This helps to supply clear, intelligible speech and vocals, even when the talent turns away from the microphone.

This version of the DPA 4060 CORE+ also includes
- An XLR adapter
- One DMM0007 Universal Surface Mount: This mount allows the mic to be mounted in the best-sounding position for a wide variety of instruments, from acoustic guitar through grand piano and drums. The mount uses special non-marking adhesive discs for attachment.
- Two MHS6005 Lavalier Microphone Holders for String Instruments: Made from soft rubber, these are used to attach the mic to a violin, viola, cello, or double bass. The holder is mounted between the tailpiece and the bridge and can be turned upwards or downwards so that the mic will be placed either over or under the strings, depending on the desired sound color or sound level. The lav mic is secured by its cable in a little clip, while the holder itself has a firm grip on two strings of the instrument with small hooks.
- Five foam windscreens are provided to reduce wind and breath noise.
- One magnetic mount is included to attach the mic to presenters and performers.
- One dual-mic vampire pin is supplied for presentations and interviews.
