Lakshmi Ganesha – The Hindi word ‘Chaturbhuj’ means the one who has four hands. In this brass sculpture Lord Ganesha is depicted with his four hands. The upper left hand has a ‘Pharsa’ or an axe symbolizing cutting attachment bonds. The lower right hand is raised with palm facing outwards away from the body with fingers flexed. This hand gesture is called ‘Abhayamudra’ that offers protection for all from all evils. The upper right hand is shown holding a conch, ‘Shankha’ in Hindi.
