Italian made, high quality brown suede penny loafer

"Look very nice on and I love the way they feel."

Th is our Hampton penny loafer. This pair is in a beautiful, mocha medium brown suede. We also have them in other leather colours - tan, chestnut, oxblood, blue and black.

Full grain suede leather

They are all hand crafted in Italy, using the finest materials such as full grain suede leather. They have a leather saddle - with a slot for the penny, from which the loafer gets its name. Penny loafers have a stitched apron. We include discrete elastic gussets to make them easier to put on, and for comfort, they also allow for a slightly higher instep.

Craftsmanship/attention to detail

The top line is neat, no raw edges, as we taper or ‘skyve’ the edge, then fold and stitch it. Also more comfortable if you’re not wearing socks. Inside the heel, we use suede in the rear counter to stop your heel from slipping. The loafer has a full calf leather lining. This helps absorb moisture and prolong the life of the shoe. And we use a genuine full leather insole.

Stitched leather sole

The sole is stitched onto the upper with a traditional Italian method called blake stitching. Th is an in-channel, lock stitching, so even if one stitch was worn or breaks the others will still be locked in place. There is a rubber insert for added wear and better grip.

Stacked leather heel

There is a 25mm leather stacked, heel, held with 4 brass pins, and a rubber piece for better wear and grip. There is a ‘gentleman’s corner’, a small bevel to reduce snagging of the heel on your trousers. So that is our tan penny loafer, a beautifully made high quality shoe, that with care should give you many years of enjoyment.

So good
Format: Kindle
Read this for the Trans Rights Readathon, and it's so good. While it's not an explicitly "trans" narrative, it is clearly about the often restrictive and even harmful nature of enforcing gender roles. Kids know what they like, be it sports or art or magic or all of it; it's adults, like Aster's entire family and culture, who have created and clung to dividing kids between boy things and girl things. The art is perfect for this story, and very dynamic. Every character is different and recognizable, even in different forms. One of my favorites.

relatable
Format: Paperback
The first part of Witch Boy is defintely our favorite!!! My daughter loved the story of bullying inside a family and how the character found support outside. She quotes the book whenever we encounter a person who feels "different" or not as they’re supposed to be, or not following societal expectations.

Great for all ages
Format: Hardcover
The first time I read this book was when I was student teaching. I was going through a time of change in my life and this book really hit me in my feelings. I started to tear up! I love this book so much that I bought my own personal copy of this book in 2016 and read it to my students every year. It is by far my favorite children's book.

Terrific seasonal book that can be read year-round
Format: Hardcover
I always love a seasonal book that can be read year-round, and much like Sweep, Little Tree is a wonderful fall book that isn’t so fall-themed it can only be read in September and October. A story of change, growing up, and letting go, a story of encouraging friends through words, presence, and patience, Little Tree will please children and adults alike! Ages 5-8.
