Highly productive, the 6" edible burgundy pods stay tender even with age and have a mild sweet nuttiness. The large hibiscus like flowers are linen yellow with a bold burgundy eye and bloom in early to mid summer. Grows best with full sun in fertile and moist well drained soils. MAINTENANCE NEEDS:   Low maintenance. Aphids and corn earworms can be problematic. Watch for spider mites, slugs and whiteflies. Root rot may occur in poorly drained soils. Susceptible to powdery mildew.  Wear gloves while working with this plant.
