In this series of letters written between November 1869 and May 1875, a young American pianist, Amy Fay, recounts the thrilling experience of studying piano with such great teachers as Liszt, Tausig, and Kullak. Printed 21 times in America, published also in London, and translated into French and German, this book has clearly established its wide appeal to music students.
The author describes the customs and mores, the place of interest, and the people she encountered during her stay in Germany, then the music capital of the world. In a vivid style and with youthful exuberance, she imparts to the reader her impressions of performances by Anton Rubinstein, Clara Schumann, Tausig, Liszt, the great violinist Joachim, Wagner (as conductor), and other notables of music history. Her account of a reception and concert in honor of Wagner is especially fascinating.
But the sections of this entirely engaging work that are of primary importance to music students, particularly to students and teachers of the piano, are the author's detailed accounts of the teaching methods of the great piano virtuosi. Interesting pictures of lessons of Tausig's conservatory, of Kullak's teaching techniques, and, above all, a unique portrait of Liszt the man, the teacher, and the performer emerge from these letters. So valued are Amy Fay's impressions of Liszt, in fact, that these sections alone are regarded as a miniature classic. For this Dover edition, Professor Frances Dillon of the Mannes College of Music contributed an informative introduction.
Because of her position as a student working closely with Liszt, Tausig, Kullak, and Deppe, Amy Fay was able to reveal many little-known facets of their work and their teaching techniques. Her obvious enthusiasm and serious attitude towards her study make this a work of great liveliness and rare insight. Not only students of the piano, but all musicologists will find her comments and descriptions invaluable. And the general reader should enjoy the many anecdotes and personal glimpses of these famous names in music.

Great balls
So far so good. Belgian/pyrenees mix that loves chewing and destroying toys. He’ll have a hard time destroying these. They are light but carry well once thrown outside. Being light they are good inside on very cold days compared to something like a lacrosse ball. Better than Chuck It brand.

NICE for soups!
Style: 34 Ounces, Size: 34 Count
We try to keep these in the house. They are REALLY nicely sized and work great for soups. They are AWESOME for soups and the only disposable plates I feel comfy using for large stews and such. Makes cleaning easy because I don't HAVE TO CLEAN! They are a bit more expensive than otherd disposable plates, but they are worth it. Pretty heavy duty plates that are thick and great for heavier foods. <3

Favorite compostable plates ever!

I’ve been using the Dixie Ultra Extra Large Compostable Paper Bowls, and I can honestly say I absolutely love them! They’re sturdy, deep, and hold generous portions, perfect for everything from hearty soups and pasta to big salads or even snacks for movie night. Unlike other paper bowls, they don’t get soggy or collapse, even with hot or liquid-heavy foods. Another huge plus for me is that they’re compostable, so I can enjoy the convenience of disposables without the guilt. They’re strong, reliable, and environmentally friendly, which is a rare combo! If you’re looking for durable, eco-conscious paper bowls that can handle anything you throw in them, these are a must-have. Highly recommend!

No more washing pozole/menudo bowls for me
Style: 34 Ounces, Size: 34 Count
Very sturdy for a paper plate. Used these for pozole at a party and saved me the hassle of washing plates. Good size, bigger than you think. When serving it does get hot so use something underneath so you don’t get burned.

Extra large paper bowls are sturdy, affordable, and make clean up a breeze.
Style: 34 Ounces, Size: 34 Count
I like the convenience of paper plates and these large 34 oz. bowls are perfect for microwave cooking. They are deep enough to handle soup, pasta, stuffing and vegetable sides with no problems and without any leaking, and are a good value for the price. They look stylish and make clean up less of a chore. You can't go wrong with Dixie paper products. They're sturdy, fun, and last through the meal.
