A conceptual and contemporary approach to early music, exploring it's ambiences, timbres and feelings. Delicate experimentation with sound textures where different white noise tones can meet the strings from a viola da gamba. A cinematic work, very touching and emotional. Almost mystic, spiritual ambient. K. Leimer and Marc Barreca are two American synth/multi-instrumental musicians that have been active since late '70s. They have some previous collaborations released in Leimer's imprint Palace Of Music. Presented in a very careful edition, the record comes packed in a folder printed in letterpress with wood and lead types. Six letterpress cards - one per track - are also included, contextualizing the artists' references used as an inspiration for their compositions. "These three pieces spring from a love of early music, specifically the works of Sainte-Colombe, Marin Marais, and John Dowland. Each of these composers ? their lives spanning a period of great musical innovation and change from 1563 to 1728 - is represented by a track included here. While there are no direct quotations present from any of their pieces there is a now familiar reliance on timbre and even on drone, elements that flourished in the often slowly-paced and harmonically narrow style of early music. Those stylistic elements have been taken up today, deliberately or not, by ambient, dark ambient, post-ambient, and slow music artists. In atmosphere early music often evokes a melancholic - even elegiac - sensibility appropriate to the present time." -K. 5 stars!!! Just what I was looking for!

This watch was just what I needed! Elastic bands had become too tight on my wrist and added to problems I was having. Quality is excellent as would be expected from Timex! The indigo light is an added bonus. Very nice watch for anyone! Easy to read quickly.

Perfect EXCEPT for the Noise

My ideals for a watch are: full numerals, easy to read (good contrast and numbers, lines for the minutes and hours), light up function, case under 33mm, swappable bands, and preferably cute, in either silver color or rose gold color.
This one checks all the boxes... And is the only one I've found which does. You can see on the picture that I replaced the band.
Now here's the problem... The watch is LOUD! The analog watch I'm replacing is entirely quiet except when brought to the ear. This one... I hear it from feet away. My husband hears it from feet away too. I've tried two of the same model and they're equally loud. It gets distracting for me. Not at night, as the blankets mute it up, but during the day. Holding my phone typing this up, or during work, conversations... even when driving I hear it over the engine and traffic noise, because the driving position brings it closer to me, tick tick tick tick. It's impressive how that sound can carry.
I've read on the internet a few people saying they improved the noise of their Timex watches by removing the hand that does the seconds. I love having it but I might just get desperate enough to try this little operation. This is the perfect watch for me except for that problem. So sad.
(EDIT: I did end up trying to remove the seconds hand. It did quiet down the watch. Unfortunately, I also broke the watch in the process of putting it back together. I've decided to cut my losses and I'm now wearing a Fossil Carlie Mini (roughly $100, and available on Amazon, entirely quiet). Doesn't light up or have full numerals but what can you do. I wear a cheap digital that can light up at night and make do.)

Love it

This is a great simple watch. It fits my wrist well and is very comfortable. I really like the champagne/pink band along with the rose gold face. I didn’t realize if you push the button on the side of the face that it lights up for easy reading in the dark. Nice detail! Feels like really good quality! I hope it lasts me a long time.

Beautiful and reliable!

I just love it. It is beautiful, comfortable and I love the back light! I tried two or three smart watches that were reasonably priced and none of them worked well. I did not want to spend several hundred dollars for a watch. I finally decided on a good reliable watch and chose time mix. I’m really glad I did.
