Steve Adamyk Band remains Canada's premiere power-pop / punk crossover group. Throughout the last decade, the band has toured Japan, Europe (four times), and all across North America, unleashing five albums and a long list of seven-inch singles. But it hasn't been easy. Most bands, by this stage, would likely have called it quits, yet Steve has persevered. When their most-consistent lineup to date unraveled in 2016, it would have been natural to end it where it stood, but the wheels kept turning (and touring) regardless.Fast-forward to 2019 and the band has been reborn. SAB is now solidified as a three-piece live (with Pat Johnson of The Acorn on drums and Johnny O of Uranium Comeback on bass) and are somehow tighter, more focused than ever, as a recent European tour proved last summer. On record, the threesome have also retained original member Dave Williams on vocals to give the songs the same vibe everyone has grown to love. Paradise-the album itself-is nothing short of a monster. Suitably, with a new lineup, the band has also beefed-up their sound. With their original feel in mind, there is nothing lo-fi about this record.Recorded by Mike Bond at Wolf Lake (Crusades) and mixed by Jesse Gander (White Lung, Japandroids) in Vancouver, Paradise is a sonically huge offering, with just the right amount of scuzz and crud where needed. Twelve new rippers, including an incredible cover of "Telephone" by The Incredible Kidda Band. Keep an eye out for the band in 2019-Steve Adamyk Band is back and won't be forgotten anytime soon.

Good gift but particular gift for this difficult person to shop for
Format: Paperback
Got this as a gift for a friend and he was hard to shop for even after asking his wife. He's not a handyman, or a tech savvy man. He cooks, and is a well read man with interests in politics and psychology, he's not at all a gamer either. He doesnt DO much but work, it's not like he works out, golf's or anything like that... And they have a Brady bunch family and all she gave me to go on was he likes malcol x. And this author is more Malcom x than mlk and aggressive in views (when being compared to MLK) but is also very intertwined with their philosophies as he was IN it... According to the person I gave the gift to. Basically he loved it! So

Great Book.
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Its great to be able to go back and read Stokely Carmichael today in his own words. This book provides an excellent overview of what black power means and how the concept originated. Although the book seems a bit dated today, many of the ideas presented are still entirely relevant.
Ive only given the book four stars due to its age. Many of the statistics presented are dated, and undoubtedly there are other texts available today that present these ideas in a much better/newer way. But if you are interested in Stokely Carmichael and what he stood for, this is the book to read.
