One morning we brought Elio some amazing fajas (belts worn with traditional Mayan dress) from the local market and asked him to incorporate them into one of his masterpieces. Imagine our joy when he presented us with these beautifully-crafted, rich and vibrant handbags.
This genuine leather handbag is approximately 16” wide and 12 1/2” tall (not including the shoulder strap which measures 10” from the top of the bag). The inside is fully lined, with a magnetic clasp to join the sides. A hidden interior pocket discreetly holds your cell phone and keys. The Mayan fabric is an heirloom handwoven faja (belt). No two are alike.
