For the brand’s inaugural design collaboration, Idaho Wood called on Post Company, the acclaimed multidisciplinary design studio based in Brooklyn, New York. Known for its expertise in hospitality, residential, and product design, Post Company has earned a reputation for crafting spaces and objects that seamlessly merge beauty, functionality, and timeless elegance.

The table lamp is conceived of two elemental forms, a pyramidal shade and a rectangular base. Both elements are carved from single pieces of timber, a feat that takes both skill of craft and sourcing of a scale of material. The lamping within the base is affixed by a wooden peg, a reference to traditional mortise and tenon timber joinery of early barns and historic wood structures. The peg language is also utilized in the form of a dimmer that controls the fixture’s light output. When lit at night, the pyramidal shape fades into the dark, so that it mysteriously illuminates the orthogonal base and highlights the unique character of each heirloom-grade fixture.
