Modern Country is the fourth full-length album by guitarist and composer William Tyler and his first recorded outside of his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. It features an ensemble backing group consisting of multi-instrumentalist Phil Cook (Hiss Golden Messenger, Blind Boys of Alabama), bassist Darin Gray (Tweedy, Jim O'Rourke), and percussionist Glenn Kotche (Wilco). The album was tracked at April Base Studios in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and finished in Nashville, recorded and mixed by Jon Ashley, and produced by Tyler and Brad Cook. While there is never a comfort zone in instrumental music, Tyler attempts to leave any perceived one behind with Modern Country. His first album for Merge, 2013's Impossible Truth, found Tyler exploring the boundaries of composition for solo guitar in a manner that paid homage to everyone from Leo Kottke to Brian Wilson. It was an epic song cycle that veered from cathedral-like psychedelic hymns to pastoral folk melodies. In contrast, Modern Country finds Tyler exploring more focused melodic themes rather than ethereal wanderings. These aren't pop songs, per se, but they are closer in spirit to Neu!, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, and Bill Frisell.

Great for my beautiful blue heeler
Pattern Name: Tug Frisbee, Size: Large
If you know what a Blue Heeler cattle dog can do is pretty similar to a velociraptor. She is not damaged this in any way shape or form and, really enjoys chasing it. Just simply toss it, very sturdy, simple to clean, just the right size. I have tested a lot of toys with her, she has destroyed a lot of toys, this one's pretty much indestructible.

KONG Tug Toy
This tug toy is decent but not amazing. It’s sturdy enough for light play, but it doesn’t hold up as well as other KONG toys we’ve used. My dog enjoyed it, but the material started to wear faster than expected, and it didn’t feel as durable as the usual KONG quality. It’s fine for occasional tug sessions, but not the best choice for strong pullers or heavy chewers.

Best toy for a puppy who loves tug-o-war
My puppy (lab/shepherd) went nuts for this toy. She loves to play tug-o-war. This is so durable and the grip handles on the end totally help you out. She loves to bit in the middle and will whip it at you to get you to engage with her. The size is perfect for her and the KONG material must feel good for her.
