The fossil measures 78 mm (3.1 inches) across with matrix. There are three beautiful ammonites in a pyrite matrix, all of which are preserved with a very high level of detail. It is uncommon to find multi-ammonite pieces with this species in. This is a real one-off, unique fossil.
These are very popular ammonites but are becoming hard to find due to lack of erosion of the right layers in the cliffs. These large examples are especially uncommon these days. It has been sealed with a removable varnish for protection.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
