Speckled turquoise glaze with silver leaf details illustrating a sea creature design. Slightly lighter glaze than usual. Maker's mark on bowl underside. In excellent condition.
The well-known Argenta stoneware series features a green glaze and silver detailing. It is a standout design by Wilhelm Kåge. Created in the late 1920s, it was initially showcased at the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition and subsequently manufactured by Gustavsberg, where Kåge was the artistic director throughout the 1930s and 40s. This piece shows expected wear consistent with its age and is in very good condition overall.
