Six Questions Your Color Glo Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise unit financial model using detailed research into mobile restoration unit economics and high-end service standards. The model comes pre-populated with editable assumptions for revenue streams like aviation interiors and fleet contracts, projecting a Year 1 revenue of $450,000 and a 2-year payback period. It is a practical tool designed to help you navigate the specific financial hurdles of a mobile restoration business.

What is the profitability trajectory?

The unit reaches profitability in April 2026, just four months after launching. This business plan financial model for leather and vinyl repair franchise operations shows EBITDA climbing steadily as you secure more recurring fleet maintenance contracts. Speed to profit is the primary goal here.

Path to Profit

  • Upsell high-margin aviation interior repairs
  • Optimize technician routing to save fuel
  • Secure recurring B2B fleet contracts
[dynamic_pic9]

How much capital is required?

You will need approximately $74,500 to launch, which covers the $40,000 franchise fee and the $18,000 mobile service van fit-out. This startup cost breakdown for automotive restoration franchise units ensures you have the $7,000 in equipment and $4,000 for hub fit-out needed on day one. Capital is the fuel for your first six months.

Capital Allocation

  • Franchise Fee: $40,000
  • Mobile Service Van: $18,000
  • Restoration Equipment: $7,000
  • Hub Fitout and Signage: $5,500
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the return on investment?

This franchise unit profitability spreadsheet for small business owners estimates an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 8.36% and a 2-year payback. By calculating return on investment for franchise unit operations, we see a Return on Equity (ROE) of 1.13, indicating a healthy recovery of your initial capital. Two years to payback is a strong benchmark for mobile services.

Investment Metrics

  • Internal Rate of Return: 8.36%
  • Payback Period: 2 Years
  • Return on Equity: 1.13
[dynamic_pic11]

What is the break-even point?

You hit break-even in month four, provided you are projecting revenue for mobile aviation interior repair business segments and automotive work totaling about $37,500 per month. The biggest driver is technician productivity, as your $134,000 in Year 1 base salaries represents your largest fixed hurdle. Efficiency is the difference between profit and loss.

Break-even Levers

  • Increase daily job completion rates
  • Minimize restoration product waste
  • Maintain 1.3% payment processing fees
[dynamic_pic12]

What is the cash runway?

The lowest cash point occurs in May 2026 at $1,157,000, assuming you maintain a significant capital reserve for multi-unit expansion. You defintely need to be diligent about managing operational costs for mobile service franchise units during the first 120 days to protect your liquidity. Cash is king when you are scaling a fleet.

Cash Flow Protection

  • Stagger field technician hiring dates
  • Negotiate hub utility deposits
  • Collect deposits for large aviation jobs
[dynamic_pic13]

How do scenarios change outcomes?

The high-growth scenario pushes Year 5 revenue to $1.086M, while the template for estimating recurring revenue in service franchises shows how fleet contracts stabilize the low-case downside. Even in a medium scenario, the 4% royalty remains manageable as long as your restoration product costs stay near 10%. Scenarios prepare you for the unexpected.

Hitting High Case

  • Dominate local luxury dealership rows
  • Maximize Scottsdale Airpark partnerships
  • Implement a digital booking referral program

Like the other one (Vol 1) but different (Vol 2) with more.
Format: Paperback
Volume 2 continues the great color combinations of the 1st Volume, but the combinations are more complex, with more colors. There's even a section of art in the form of paintings, prints, woven work, etc. that you see on one page while on the opposite page is the breakdown of the colorations in bars with no image. What this does is show how the art works, and then how the combinations also work. Also more of the simplified 2 and 3 combinations that I think I prefer as more minimal. Again, these are ranged from light and airy to darkly saturated -and all curiously satisfying and worth study and trying them out. On the computer it's possible to match any tone or hue, so there's a path that only requires finding the right starting color then paying attention to the combination. Not that it's an end-all, but a beginning. Any of those can be shifted or modified with ease but it depends on how they fit a real-time application and not a formula. But the horizons have already been expanded so there's more, and even more.

Great book to help establish a palette for a software, web or art project
Format: Paperback
I love this book for helping me establish a color palette for art projects that I want a Japanese feel to. Also just generally good for getting inspiration for color palettes that just plain look good. I've always, since I can remember from my youth, felt drawn to the Japanese color combinations in kimono. fashion, origami paper and even toys. Maybe it's a consequence of growing up in Hawaii with all the Japanese influences I had -- or, as I suspect, it's just really good color application. This book helps me find the colors I want that go together the way I want. I use the examples in this book with a Color Muse to pick my digital color palette.

Terrific content, soft cover.
Format: Paperback
It is way smaller than expected but it is amazing in content. The only think I do not like is that it has an extremely soft external cover, which worries me on the long run.
