Andrew Mayne, is the cutting edge creator and magician behind Illusion EFX, Levitator and the infamous “Gut Buster.” He continues his tour de force with this “In Half” effect, which puts a powerful twist on a classic illusion.

The effect starts with you, the performer, dramatically stepping into an upright cabinet made from two seemingly innocent cardboard boxes. With some performance dramatics you then visibly separate the two halves of your body by sliding the top box to the side so that your spectators can clearly see both your upper torso and legs are completely separated.

You then take this illusion to the next level by lifting your upper body with your hands, as you also clearly show that your waist is several inches off the bottom of the cabinet while still being completely detached. The top box can then slid back as you astonishing emerge intact.
