System Deployment and Hardware Interfacing Advice
Optimal Omnidirectional Placement: Because the ME 2 features an omnidirectional capsule, it naturally picks up sound from all directions. For clear speech capture, clip the microphone centrally on clothing (such as a tie, lapel, or button seam), roughly 6 to 8 inches below the chin. Avoid placing it beneath heavy clothing layers or too close to jewelry, which can generate friction noise against the microphone housing.
Mind the Y-Band Antenna Physics: Because the 1.7 GHz frequency band uses short radio wavelengths, maintaining a clear line-of-sight between the receiver's antennas and the performer is critical. Avoid hiding the receiver inside metal equipment cabinets. If you are mounting the receiver inside a deep metal audio rack, use the included GA 3 Rackmount Kit extension cables to mount the antennas cleanly onto the front faceplate for optimal line-of-sight reception.
