Handsome Henry sleeps in a sunbeam, mysterious Ming winds around ankles, and ChiChi and Bunnykin are bold and adventurous. But you won't see Mouse--he hides away, watching all the activity with round green eyes.

Each day of the week, a visitor comes to the café and adopts a cat that's just right--a perfect human-cat pairing. And by the time Sunday rolls around, even shy Mouse finds his forever home.

This is a heartfelt picture book about the connection humans can find with animals, and a celebration of how animals can be just as diverse in their personalities as people. It emphasizes the importance of adopting animals in need of a home and offers gentle validation for readers (and cats!) about coming out of your shell at your own pace when you're nervous or shy.

ANNA HUMPHREY is the author of the Bee & Flea series, the Clara Humble series, the Megabat series and other novels for middle-grade and young adult readers. Anna lives with her family, their cats, and billions upon billions of backyard critters in Kitchener, Ontario.

KARI RUST is an author/illustrator with a background in character animation. She is the author and illustrator of The House at the End of the Road and the OLA Blue Spruce Award nominee, Tricky. Kari has also illustrated a number of other children's books, including the Weird Sisters Detective Agency chapter book series. She lives in Vancouver, British Columbia with her family and a wiggly little dog called Rolo.
