Named after the complex, interconnected patterns found in nature, Koibuchi is as much a sculptural room divider as it is a storage solution. The Koibuchi Bookcase is inspired by the organic structures of cells or eroded stones. Instead of standard rectangular cubbies, the bookcase features a series of interconnected, irregular apertures that flow into one another. The "holes" vary in shape and size, creating a dynamic visual movement. This ensures that even when the shelf is empty, it remains a powerful piece of wall art. Because it is finished perfectly on all sides, Koibuchi is frequently used as a freestanding room divider. It defines spaces without closing them off, allowing light and air to pass through its "cells."
