Das „SS39694 Cotton Linen Slubyarn Open Shirt – Chrysanthemum“ von Sun Surf basiert auf einem Aloha-Design der 1950er Jahre, ursprünglich von der Cherry Blossom Brand.

Das Motiv zeigt Chrysanthemen – in der japanischen Kultur ein klassisches Symbol für Beständigkeit und Ruhe. Auf Aloha-Shirts tauchen solche Motive häufig auf, geprägt durch den starken Einfluss japanischer Einwanderer auf die frühe hawaiianische Textilproduktion.

Der Stoff ist ein Cotton-Linen Slub Yarn. Durch die unregelmäßigen Garne entsteht eine leicht bewegte Oberfläche, die dem Print Struktur gibt. Der Leinenanteil sorgt für einen trockenen Griff und einen luftigen Fall.

Gedruckt wird im Discharge-Verfahren. Dabei wird die Grundfarbe des Stoffes entfernt und das Motiv neu aufgebaut. So bleibt die Oberfläche weich, und der Print bekommt Tiefe, ohne auf dem Stoff zu liegen.
