Etymologie: sharoniae = Die Art ist zu Ehren von Sharon Christoph Davidson benannt, die zusammen mit ihrem Ehemann Chris Davidson eine Feldbegleiterin und ein großer Förderer meiner Arbeit mit den Araceae war. Sharon und Chris sind beide hervorragende Fotografen, ausgezeichnete Sammler und wunderbare Feldbegleiter. Es macht immer Spaß, mit ihnen im Feld zu sein. Herkunft: Kolumbien, Ekuador
Standort: epiphytisch, von Meereshöhe bis 2300m, im feuchten Tropenwald bis zum nassen Bergwald.
Anmerkungen:
Philodendron sharoniae wurde am 9 Aug. 2004 von Thomas B. Croat & Genevieve Ferry in Ekuador entdeckt. Die Art hat umgekehrt birnenförmige Blätter, die mehr oder weniger, je nach Standortvariante, am Mittellappen stark verengt ist.
