Trichocereus  pachanoi cristata ist eine besondere Form der Kakteenart, die aufgrund ihrer einzigartigen Wachstumsform und Ästhetik bei Kaktusliebhabern sehr beliebt ist. "Cristata" bezieht sich auf die besondere Wuchsform, die als "Kamm" oder "Kammkaktus" bezeichnet wird.

Im Gegensatz zu normalen Trichocereus pachanoi-Kakteen, die in der Regel säulenförmig und aufrecht wachsen, wächst Trichocereus pachanoi cristata in einer kammartigen, wellenförmigen Form. Diese Wachstumsform ist das Ergebnis einer genetischen Mutation und tritt nur sehr selten auf.

Trichocereus pachanoi cristata ist ein schnell wachsender Kaktus und kann in der richtigen Umgebung und Pflege bis zu einem Meter breit werden. Er produziert weiße Blüten und kleine rote Früchte.
